The temple opens at 03:30 for Suprabhatam and closes at 21:45. The hours between these darshan windows are for rituals, Maharaja Bhogam (12:00 to 13:00) and paid break darshan (09:00 to 10:00 and 16:00 to 17:00). The annual Brahmotsavams run for 11 days in Phalguna (usually February to March), and Narasimha Jayanthi falls in Vaisakha. Expect changed timings and heavy crowds then.

Before You Go

Time to allow

1.5 hours to 3 hours inside the temple. This is a planning allowance, not a queue time; festival days take longer.

Dress

For arjitha sevas, Nitya Kalyanam, the Sudarshana Narasimha Homam, the Satyanarayana Vratham and VIP darshan, women wear a sari or a chudidar with a chunni, and men wear a dhoti or white lungi with an upper cloth. Shorts, jeans, T-shirts and skirts are not allowed for these. The general queue is exempt, but modest clothes are still wise.
