Shani Dosham Pariharam at Thirunallar Saneeswaran Temple
Families going through a difficult Saturn period visit Thirunallar to bathe in the Nala theertham and pray to Saneeswaran, which devotees believe eases Shani's effects. Saturdays and the Sani peyarchi transit bring the biggest crowds.
What happens
- Families first bathe in the Nala theertham, traditionally with oil. Devotees believe the dip relieves the adverse effects of Shani.
- After the bath, devotees light sesame lamps and offer karunguvalai flowers to Saneeswaran.
- On Saturdays the temple holds abhishekam and archana for Saneeswaran in the morning and evening, and streams them on its YouTube channel.
