Panguni Uthiram 2027 at Palani and Other Temples

What happens

1. At Palani the festival opens with a flag hoisting and runs for ten days.
2. Devotees carry milk pots and kavadi to the temple to keep their vows.
3. The Thirukalyanam of Muthukumaraswamy with Valli and Deivanai is held, and the chariot is pulled round the Giri Veedhi the next day. In 2026 that day was 1 April.
4. At Srirangam, families come for Serthi Sevai, when Ranganatha and Ranganayaki are seen together.

When to go

The festival falls on the full-moon day of Panguni, in March or April. At Palani the ten days end around the Uthiram day.
